Artist's Statement

The works in this exhibit range from the birds of Iceland to the ice of Greenland and the great bears of Churchill to the big cats of Tanzania. The diverse landscapes of geothermal-rich Iceland provide dramatic vistas of glaciers, waterfalls and black sand beaches. Greenland is a land of large ice, colorful houses and the shifting light of the midnight sun. Polar bears and ptarmigan provide white on white in the lands around Churchill, Manitoba, with the ravens adding a little contrast. Tanzania boasts more bird species than all of North America and the wildlife in the national parks are wondrous to behold. Camera in hand, I am focused on nature.
