Crary Art Gallery is pleased to present:
Denise Drummond
Landscapes and Portraits
September 5 - 27, 2009
This Crary exhibition will include 35 works in graphite, charcoal, and watercolor by Bradford artist Denise Drummond. Her drawings and paintings depict the range of nature from rugged mountain-scapes to a tiny detailed portrait of an ostrich fern. This exhibition will also include some of her portrait work. Her works' subtle details and compositional structures are powerful testament to the emotive power of tones and values.
Denise spent three summers in Glacier National Park, where she began working on a series of National Park drawings. In the following years, her resultant works from the Park were five times chosen to tour the nation's art museums along with the other top one hundred artworks from the very competitve and prestigious 'Arts for the Parks' contest.
Denise now lives in her native Bradford, PA, and continues to work on local and not-so-near landscape drawings.
