Former art teacher, current president of the local artist cooperative gallery Allegheny Artistry, and long-time Warren County artist Joanne Oviatt will share her recent works in our galleries this summer. Her creations reflect themes, forms and materials she gleans from nature. Ms. Oviatt grew up exploring creeks, forests and farms, and uses these deep influences in her work. The elements of nature persist and emerge in her art, which ranges through several materials including sculptures in walnut and catalpa wood; re-formed, recycled copper flashing; cast bronze; cast recycled paper; and paintings drawn from nature and local history.
This exhibition is an exciting collection of new works created specially for this show, so please visit us to see Ms. Oviatt's new break-out works.
Please join us for the artist's reception on opening night,
Friday, August 6, 6:00 - 8:00pm.
